May 10, 2021 – announced today that they will be participating in the FCC Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program. The program, created to provide assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, offers a temporary discount on monthly broadband service for qualifying low-income households or households who have lost income due to the pandemic. Eligible participants can apply beginning Wednesday, May 12, 2021 and will receive up to a $50/month discount on broadband service with residents on qualifying tribal lands receiving up to a $75/month discount. Additionally, as part of the EBB program, participants will be able to purchase a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer for as little as $10 and no more than $50. The program will end when the fund runs out of money, or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 health emergency, whichever is sooner.
