Setting up Domain Hosting E-Mail on Your iPhone

This is a short tutorial on setting up your cPanel Domain Hosting Email account on the iPhone (tested on the iPhone 4), this is specific to this type of hosting, and may not work for other types of email accounts.

Tap the Settings icon.

Choose “”Add Account”


Select “Other” from the List of account types.

Enter the account information, then click the “next button”

Choose “IMAP” from the Options at the top of the screen, and fill in the fields as indicated

Incoming Mail Server:

Host Name:

Username : your entire email address

Password : password


Outgoing Mail Server:

Host Name:

Username : your entire email address

Password : password

You will get a screen stating it cannot verify server identity. Click “continue”

It will take a few minutes to verify the account info, and you see the above prompt again, simply hit “Continue”again .


Assuming all your information is correct, you should be ready to go. If it fails, check your settings for mistakes. (tested on iPhone 4)

Since its creation in 1997, has had a local office and employees. We have always felt that this is a value to our customers, compared to any short term savings we’d see by outsourcing our Support like other ISPs do.

An example of this value can be found in one customer who’s been with for over 10 years. They saw our ad in the local paper, walked into our office in 1999, signed up for dialup service, and worked with our local staff in setting up their computer for dialup. When they had issues, they called the same technician over the years to help solve  problems as they arose.

As we got to know the customer, a relationship was built, and when they signed up for DSL service later on the same technician who had installed their dialup service many years ago came out to their home and set them up for DSL. While the DSL install went just like any other DSL install, the experience was improved by the level of trust our customer had for us, given that they were not just customer 1052, being assisted by technician 1375 based in Davis. They were Steve and Doris, being helped by Chris, and had a 10 year relationship to work from.

Many customers have shared with me that they enjoy being able to walk into our office, or call in knowing that they’ll get a familiar voice vs. an endless cycle of different people. I still to this day talk to the customer in this article and see them around town from time to time. Instead of an awkward Customer to Employee conversation, we catch up on recent events, hobbies, something you won’t be able to get from an outsourced call center from any of the “Big” ISPs .

Will my e-mail address or password change?

No. Your current e-mail address and password will simply be moved over to the new system. They will remain the same.

When is this transition expected to happen?

We are looking to make it available to our customers on the third week of May 2011.

What time of the day will this occur?

We will be doing the transition between 12AM-5AM Pacific Time.

Am I going to lose my old e-mail?

No. During the transition process from mailserver1 to mailserver2, a process of “mirroring” will be used to ensure that your old mailbox is the exact same on the new system. If you use an email program like Outlook, Eudora, Mac Mail, Thunderbird or any other, the messages will stay untouched as they are saved on your computer.

What about messages that arrive during the transition?’s Spam system holds messages locally until the mailserver is ready to take deliveries.

Am I going to lose my contacts saved on the current webmail?

No. We have created a process that will copy your current Webmail contacts over to the new system. Any contact saved on your Outlook, Eudora, Mac Mail or Thunderbird will stay untouched.

Is the Webmail compatible with my browser?

Yes. However, some older browser like Internet Explorer 6 and older might experience issues. The webmail also has a standard(HTML) version for older/slower browsers.

Do I have to change anything on my computer?

No! If you have a current working e-mail account with, you do not have to touch any of your e-mail program settings.

This is an exciting time for For the past several months, we have been working very hard behind the scenes to establish a foundation for improved service quality, faster Internet speeds, wider coverage area, and further growth of the company. This has been a very intense process involving the entire team here at, all of whom are highly devoted to the task at hand.

Coming shortly, over the course of the net few months through spring and summer, you will begin to experience the fruit of this labor. Among the new capabilities are:

  • A quintupling of our Internet bandwidth capacity allowing better service for everyone and enabling growth into new areas;
  • A redundant microwave data link to an Internet hub in Sacramento, to provide failsafe operation in the event of any service disruption in our fiber-optic data link
  • New wireless technology in select areas that eliminates radio interference, providing service quality equivalent to that of any land-line based high speed Internet solution, and offering up to 10 Mbps download speeds to the end user
  • Additional wireless backhauls to our existing repeater sites to increase capacity and allow better speeds for our wireless customers during peak usage times
  • An expanded wireless service area to provide coverage to more of you who are still stranded in dial-up desolation
  • DSL service to more areas than ever before

This is an ongoing process, and the above improvements will be rolled out in stages, so some of you will see some of these improvements sooner than others. Please be assured that if you do not immediately see any change for the better, you will in due course experience many of these new benefits.
