Note from Sue:

This is not my usual short message.  I feel this message is  important .

Giving Thanks

With our world in financial crisis and all of our own personal issues, it might be a bit hard to find something to be thankful for!   I am not any different from many.  I have been out of work, my medical is not covered, have many medical issues.

With all of this, I have been trying to think of what I could do to make things better, not just for me but better in general.

In my opinion we got in this fix due to "Greed and Mean," not being thankful, not paying or giving back, just taking.

From the world's top CEO's to the smaller groups taking and never giving back.  Or, if you like, not investing to keep things alive and well......we do this with our energy, natural resources and, yes, even our dancing.

I have always been thankful for your support with helping keep Zydeco Alive.  I am by no means in a financial position to do some of the things I do, but keep doing them so we can keep the bands working and the music that we all love, out there.

Your support of events has made this possible.   For instance, the money I made for Zydeco Cruise 2008, I donated to help pay for the July 4th events.  The memberships you have made will help keep music coming out west for you guys to enjoy.

I am taking my personal really large CD collection and donating it to the cause.  I will be filling our holiday grab bag for the December 7 dance.  I am also giving away a cruise for two for the Bayou to Bahamas at the December 7th dance.  The Bayou to Bahama Zydeco Party departs New Orleans Nov. 14 2009.  To see the ship and for more information, go to www.zydecocruise.com.

You will win a cabin for two Category 4A  (tips and port charges are NOT included).

Rules:  this is to help people get on the ship that otherwise may not be able to come........You must be present to win.

I would appreciate if you are already signed on the cruise not participate to give someone new a chance to win a trip and join us.........

Sign up with Sue when you get to the dance.

In that spirit I challenge you to bring someone (who may not be able to come)  to the dance and pay their way in.  Lets spread the Help, Hope and GOOD TIMES............ THANKFUL FOR ALL OF YOU  AND ALL THE GOOD TIMES YET TO COME!

Zydeco Ted travels extensively to Texas/Louisiana; teaches basic Louisiana style Zydeco, has taught at numerous venues throughout Northern California as well as Simi Valley, Long Beach and Gator By The Bay Festivals.

He also has a smooth Creole style which is great to observe and actually looks like a Zydeco dancer from Louisiana or Texas in comparison to a dance teacher from out of state who learned and started to teach Zydeco at a later point.
